“Capturing Realism Asia 2024” in Review

We want to give a massive congratulations to our Sri Lankan and Thai teams on the success of Capturing Realism Asia 2024! The apprentices and staff from both campuses came together to create an exhibition that attracted a massive turnout to the Lionel Wendt Art Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The exhibition featured 70+ artworks created by 25+ ÀNI artists, exemplifying the dedication and passion for art that the ÀNI apprentices and staff possess.

We would like to thank instructors Rodney O’Dell, I. G. M. Dilshan, and Dan Christian, along with staff members Supun Sampath Gunawardhana, Nuwani Gunawardhana, and Indralal Gunawardena for their work in making this exhibition a success. Many hours of work go into putting a show like this up for the public, and it would not have been possible without them.

Finally, we would like to thank the Lionel Wendt Art Centre for partnering with us and hosting the exhibition. Established in the 1950s in honor of influential Sri Lankan artist Lionel Wendt, the Art Centre has grown to be a significant platform for art, education, and performance. It features two gallery spaces and a theater for performing arts.

If you did not get the chance to see the artwork from this show in person or if you are interested in supporting one or more of our apprentices by adding a new piece of art to your collection, you can view our exhibition catalog here: Capturing Realism Asia 2024 Catalog
