Capturing Realism Asia Returns to Colombo in 2026

ÀNI Art Academies is proud to announce the return of Capturing Realism Asia, taking place from October 3 through October 18, 2026, at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This will be the second Capturing Realism Asia exhibition presented in Colombo, continuing a growing tradition that celebrates the remarkable artistic achievements emerging from ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Hosted by ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka, the exhibition will bring together compelling contemporary works by more than 20 artists, including current apprentices, alumni, Deans, and instructors from both academies. The collection will highlight a wide range of subjects, styles, and mediums, reflecting the individual voices of the artists as well as the exceptional skill, discipline, and creativity fostered through the ÀNI Art Academies program.

The exhibition will once again be presented at the prestigious Lionel Wendt Art Centre, a major cultural institution in Colombo dedicated to the memory of celebrated Sri Lankan photographic artist Lionel Wendt.

Combining visual art and live performance, the Centre includes two exhibition galleries and two theatres and has long served as an important destination for the arts in Sri Lanka. Its distinguished history and central role in Colombo’s cultural community make it a fitting home for this international celebration of contemporary art.
