ÀNI Artists on View at Sotheby’s New York

ÀNI Art Academies is proud to celebrate three of our artists whose works are currently on view in the prestigious 17th/18th International ARC Salon Exhibition at Sotheby’s New York.

Presented by the Art Renewal Center (ARC), the exhibition brings together approximately 100 of the finest works selected from the 17th and 18th International ARC Salon competitions. The exhibition is being held at Sotheby’s new flagship Madison Avenue location in New York City from July 17 through July 27, 2026.

Representing the ÀNI Art Academies community in this remarkable international exhibition are:

K. G. Bethmini N. DissanayakeThe Enchanted Reader
ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka

Bethmini Dissanayake’s charcoal drawing The Enchanted Reader was selected as a finalist in the Drawing category of the 18th International ARC Salon. Bethmini is an apprentice at ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka, where she has continued to develop her technical skills.

H. K. Praneeth MaleeshaLittle Embroiderers
ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka

Praneeth Maleesha is another talented artist representing ÀNI Art Academies Sri Lanka in the exhibition. His work, Little Embroiderers, beautifully captures a quiet moment between its young subjects, reflecting the care and attention Praneeth brings to his artwork.

Maxwell MillerThe Tale of the Curious Oyster
ÀNI Art Academies Alumnus and Former Instructor

ÀNI alumnus and former instructor Maxwell Miller is represented by his oil painting The Tale of the Curious Oyster. Maxwell’s imaginative still-life work has earned recognition in numerous exhibitions and competitions, and we are thrilled to see this piece included among the works on view at Sotheby’s.

The International ARC Salon is one of the most prominent competitions dedicated to contemporary representational art. The 18th International ARC Salon alone received approximately 3,500 entries from artists representing 72 countries, demonstrating the extraordinary international reach and competitive nature of the program.

The current exhibition is especially significant because it brings together selected works from both the 17th and 18th International ARC Salons, offering visitors an opportunity to experience approximately 100 exceptional works of contemporary realism in person.

Having three artists connected to ÀNI Art Academies represented in this exhibition is an exciting accomplishment for our entire community. From current apprentices in Sri Lanka to an accomplished alumnus and former instructor, their inclusion reflects the dedication, perseverance, and artistic growth that we are fortunate to witness throughout the ÀNI program.

We congratulate Bethmini Dissanayake, Praneeth Maleesha, and Maxwell Miller on this outstanding achievement and are incredibly proud to see their work represented on an international stage at Sotheby’s New York.

The 17th/18th International ARC Salon Exhibition is on view through July 27, 2026, at Sotheby’s New York, 945 Madison Avenue, New York City.
