ÀNI Artists Continue Recognition at the Almenara Art Prize

The 2026 Almenara Art Prize is now accepting submissions. This prestigious competition highlights work from some of the finest living artists around the world.

Artists may enter work in the following categories: figurative, portrait, plein air, landscape, drawing, still life, wildlife and animal, religious and spiritual, fantastic realism, from life by graduate students, and young artists.

All submitted work must be created using traditional materials. Digital artwork, photography, and AI-generated images will not be accepted. To verify authenticity, artists are also required to submit work-in-progress images alongside the final artwork. Full submission guidelines and rules can be found on the Almenara website.

ÀNI is proud that several of our students and staff have participated in this competition over the years, with many receiving recognition among an international field of talented artists. Maxwell Miller, former Dean of the ÀNI Art Academies Dominicana, won Best in Show in 2024 and was also a finalist in the portrait category in 2023, leading to his work being exhibited in Córdoba, Spain.

In the 2025 Almenara Art Prize, ÀNI artists Maxwell Miller and Michael P. Carson were selected as finalists, while apprentice Garret McCall received an Honorable Mention recognition.

The deadline to submit work for the 2026 Almenara Art Prize is June 30, 2026. Best of luck to everyone entering this highly competitive event!
