ÀNI Art Academies America

A New Jersey native, Alessandra Alma is an award-winning artist, writer, and disabled veteran. From 2002 to 2006, Alessandra served as a Communications & Information Officer in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. After leaving the military, she worked in the Information Technology industry before becoming disabled and retiring.

In 2010, she was encouraged to join her local Romance Writers of America chapter to learn how to write a romance she pitched to a friend. Until then, Alessandra never read a romance novel but was hooked once she did. She writes contemporary romantic comedies with Latinx characters that reflect her Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage.

Alessandra is a member of the American Legion and served on the board of directors for Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. and New Jersey Romance Writers for several terms. She is an alumnus of the Writer’s Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Program, where she currently volunteers. Alessandra obtained a B.S. in Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University. She is also an apprentice at Ani Art Academy America, where she studies drawing and painting.

Her artwork has been exhibited at the National Arts Program/Union County Art Exhibition in Union, NJ, Curated Gallery in Caldwell, NJ, and 14C Art Fair/JCAST in Jersey City, NJ. Alessandra resides in New Jersey with her daughter and service dog.
