Michael Hernandez (b. 1994) was born in the Dominican Republic and migrated to the island of Anguilla in 2007. A fiery enthusiasm for all thing’s art began during his childhood years as he admired and sought after the graffiti skills of his older brothers. Later on, during the years, Michael took his ‘boyish’ skills and sought to mature them under the tutelage of artist Juan Moreno Francis, through whom he was introduced to painting. Following that, he enrolled in the Jose Ignacio Morales Foundation in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Michael began his apprenticeship with artist Timothy W. Jahn at the Ani Art Academy in Anguilla in 2013. As he is recently enrolled in the Waichulis program, Michael encounters challenges every day that only serve to fuel his passion to become great. Art is indubitably Michael’s voice, and he demands to be heard.
