Great Artists are Not Born - They are Educated
Shan has been participating in drawing and entering art completions since he was young. Shan began his apprenticeship at Ani Art Academies Sri Lanka after finishing school. He is excited to start his artistic journey of building new skill sets with the guidance of master artist Timothy W. Jahn. Shan is ready to bring his dreams to life.
Nakorn was born into a soldier’s family and became interested in art after learning about it from his neighbor. After finishing junior high school, he continued his education at Cholburi Vocational School in the faculty of fine art. He won many student awards during his education, including 2nd prize from The Regional Skill Contest of Drawing & Sculpture. Consequently, he earned a scholarship to study at Burapha University, Cholburi. After his education, he moved to Phuket where he met Rodney O’Dell Davis. Nakorn decided to join Ani Art Academy Thailand and moved to Koh Yao Noi to pursue his dream.
Foremost was born and raised in Bangkok. Although he never had art classes when he was young, he developed a connection to art through his favorite comic books, Gundum and Dragon Ball. He started drawing characters from the books as his hobby. When he graduated from high school, he had a chance to meet his long lost friend, who introduced Foremost to Ani Art Academy and the instruction of realistic art. He then moved from Bangkok to Koh Yao Noi to join the academy and develop his artistic skills.
For Nicole Adkisson (b. 1979) born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, creating art has been a lifelong interest. Focusing on still life and landscape paintings, she strives to communicate beauty through every day objects and a sense of place and time for the viewer. After studying classical art for two years in Edmond, Oklahoma her journey continues as an apprentice at the Ani Art Academy Waichulis.
(b.1994) From Southern Sri Lanka, Yoggya has been a hobbyist of drawing since childhood. During her free time, she would spend it drawing on paper. Art was her favorite subject in school but stopped at fourteen to focus her studies on Human Resources and IT. After learning about Ani Art Academy while in Dikwella, Sri Lanka she decided to follow her passion for art. Yoggya is enjoying to process of creating realistic drawings with the help of talented artist Timothy W. Jahn as her teacher.
(b. 1982) Omar was born in Scranton Pennsylvania. Raised by spiritual and supportive parents, Omar drew on positive life experiences to shape his work. The truth and honesty he strives to achieve in his work has captured the attention of many art lovers. Many awards and accolades reinforce his success within prestigious national competitions like the Art Renewal Center's Scholarship Competition, International Salon, and the F&W publication, Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing. Omar exhibits regularly on a national scale and has already participated in several key showcases. As Mr. Rodriguez continues to pursue his personal aesthetic goals, he looks forward to contributing to the efforts of the Ani Art Academies project.
(b. 1980) Romale Orlando Lovelace found freedom and validation in an elementary school art class. Time by time he realized the weight and the scale of his imagination. He can be aloof, or brief but at his best he is warm, captivating and vital. Ideas that interest him today are information density, synesthesia, and human conservation. Orlando is an apprentice of Kevin A. Moore at Ani Art Academy America.
(b. January 15, 1993) Since Patricia was a little, she felt very passionate about art. She was interested in design, drawing and painting. When she was at school, she was an excellent student, but especially in art classes. When she graduated high school, she didn’t have the opportunity to attend University. She then started working on many different artistic activities in her hometown. This included competitions that showcase her talent, such as designing costumes, where she was recognized with trophies. Then her dreams came true when she was accepted to study at Ani Art Academies Dominicana. Art is her true passion and she hopes to continue to develop her art skills.
Being an Air Force Brat and a Third Culture Kid, Phil cannot claim to be from anywhere exactly but from a little bit of everywhere. Moving every few years his interests changed quickly but his love of drawing and painting never changed. His focus in painting is Trompe l’oeil and is inspired by the idea of creating order from piles of colored goop. Phil followed his passion for art and was the top graduate for the School of Liberal Arts receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Auburn University and is continuing his pursuits in art at Ani Art Academy Waichulis.
Born in St.Maarten in 1997, Prudence has always been inspired and excited about art. From early on, Prudence has been expressing herself through drawings, colorings, and paintings. Though she enjoyed art she never considered it as being a professional possibility. It was her mother’s encouragement and the opportunity to attend the Ani Art Academy in Anguilla that allowed her to embrace the idea of becoming a skilled artist. "Every child is an artist, the problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up,” said Pablo Picasso. In the future she intends to give back to the community the skill she acquired as a young person.
Rachael Bills is a Wisconsin-born artist. From early childhood, she showed an interest in inventing and drawing cartoon creatures, enjoying putting her imagination into visual form. After taking high school art classes, she saw for the first time the enjoyment, satisfaction, and technical challenges that come with drawing from life. While she always had a love for art and saw drawing as an instinctive form of self-expression, she never found an avenue to give practical direction to her passion until she applied to Ani Art Academies Waichulis and was offered a full scholarship. She is currently working through the drawing program with Ani and is thrilled to experience the creative process in a way she never has before, throwing all she has into improving her skills and turning her passion into a career.
Ravindu joined Ani Art Academies Sri Lanka shortly after graduating from high school. He is delighted to have esteemed artist Timothy W. Jahn as his teacher. At Ani Art Academy, Ravindu is expanding his artistic capabilities in the pursuit of becoming a successful artist.
(b.1995) Since he was small, Reidy was very interested in art, so he decided to follow that passion with the goal of becoming a great artist. Reidy was so enthusiastic about this goal, he opted to participate in an art contest that is held each year in Rio San Juan. It was in these contests that he really showed his talent in public, and even won first place. When Reidy turned 17 years old, he graduated high school and began looking for a way that he could advance on his goal. As time went by, Reidy met several artists from different countries with whom he got to work and to learn about various types of art. This allowed him to learn alternate techniques and find new inspiration. That is when he met the students of Ani Art Academies Dominicana. At Ani, he felt interested and had the opportunity to study and continue to advance his artistic skills. The Ani Art curriculum has immensely helped his ability, and he now feels he has finally found the opportunity that will enable him to fulfill his lifelong goal.
(b. 1991) Ricardo grew up in Jersey City, NJ and realized his affection for the arts at a very early age. In high school this developed into a life-long obsession as he was exposed to figurative art. Ricardo has studied at New Jersey City University as well as duCret School of Art. He was then referred to Jahn Studios by former art teacher Monica Baumann and other students. In November of 2009 he enrolled in an apprenticeship under Timothy Jahn to realize his goal of becoming a representational artist.
(b. 1978) Roger C. Long graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Illustration. He would later study privately with famed artists Michael Aviano and Timothy Jahn. His studies were then augmented at the esteemed Academy duCret in New Jersey. He is currently an apprentice at The Ani Art Academy Waichulis. His highly sought after works have been exhibited at numerous galleries and have received national recognition, most notably with the Allied Artist of America and The Art Renewal Center.
Romaro H. Richardson (b. 1993) had a humble upbringing as a child. Due to medical conditions however, he was exempt from most physical recreational activities the average child would have partook in. Positively, this led to him having a vivid imagination that reflected in the homemade toys he produced.In his adolescent years, Romaro’s prior career pursuit was that of the construction field; the profession common to the men in his family. Hence his secondary and tertiary level academics were surrounded with relative courses. Outside of Technical Drawing at O-level education and Geometrical and Mechanical Engineering drawing at A-level education, Romaro has not held a pencil to produce any artistic works. He is however an enthusiast of digital media with an emphasis on Photography and Videography, and has worked alongside webmasters residing in Anguilla; Recently Nori Evoy of Anguilla-beaches.com.In the first quarter of 2012, a few months prior to completing A-level studies, Romaro began studying under the headship of Artist Timothy Jahn the current instructor of Ani Art Academies Anguilla. He is fully committed into the program. As it will lay a well needed stepping stone in his pursuit for becoming competent in Media and Communication. He wishes to adapt the Waichulis Language of Drawing methodology to producing graphic design works with the aid of graphics tablets.Being inspired by the many Christian art works of the renaissance era, Romaro has plans to create works with references to the life and teachings of The Christ and the Early Church, as well as works that reflect Caribbean Culture and Heritage.
