Ani Art Academy America participated in one of the largest art fairs in Red Bank NJ. Street Art Fairs are an excellent opportunity to show Ani Art Academies Apprentices artwork and spread the word about the schools. Kevin A. Moore, the head instructor of the Ani America Academy, met with hundreds of people, discussing the benefits of art education for veterans.

We are proud to announce that Nicole Adkisson’s and Dan Christian’s works were selected to participate in the 4th Annual DRAWN exhibition at the Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati, Ohio. Manifest Gallery was founded in-part to stand for the importance of drawing as a process, skill, and discipline, and as a continuing viable product of the creative fine art and design fields. The jury for this competitive exhibit resulted in the final selection including 43 works by 35 artists from all across the U.S., and the countries of Australia and Sweden. The gallery reviewed a total of 913 entries from 284 artists, and both Nicole and Dan were selected out if such big number of entries! Congratulation!
A big congratulation to Alejandro Queris, Ani Art Academy Thailand Apprentice, for finishing his first creative project. The title of the drawing is “Gift from Ganesha,” and is the first in a series of works to come on the subject of endeavors through dreams, meditation, and astral projection. Alex has been a professional tattoo artist for the past twenty years. Whenever possible he would attend courses at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, Florida where he studied drawing, painting, photography, and ceramics. After finding the Ani Art Academies, always having a passion for classical realism, he decided to pursue his dream of representational art. Alejandro was accepted into the prestigious Ani Art Academies Thailand where he continues to hone his skills in drawing and painting. Rio San Juan is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, halfway between the area of Puerto Plata and Samana peninsula. The areas of Rio San Juan and Cabrera are known as the Costa Verde for its beautiful beaches and coastal landscapes. It is also known for its annual seaside carnival. The Carnival has been held since 1997, from 14th to 17th of February, in the waters of the Gri-Gri Lagoon. This year Ani Art Academy Dominicana Apprentices took a significant role in the carnival. Besides painting beautiful murals for at the Gi Gi Lagoon, they also participated in various competitions. Every year a contest is hosted by Campo de Golf and the Town Hall for the best papier mache mask. The themes were marine species, Rio San Juan culture, and Carnival. Participants created masks out of paper mache and various other materials. Ani Art Academy Dominicana Apprentices received the following awards: Patricia Alonzo Diaz won first place for her Hermit Crab mask, and an honorable mention for her Queen Conch display; Felix Esteban Rosario, Domingo (Tony) Rosario, and Eddy Vargas all got honorable mentions for their marine life displays. We also would like to congratulate Eddy Vargas, who worked with six other local artists to create a "comparsa", a group of people dressed in a similar theme dancing on a decorated carnival float. Moore, and two of his students, Alessandra Alma and Michael Boyle participated in the New York job fair for veterans. They discussed educational opportunities available to all veterans at Ani Art Academy America. Town Hall officials approached Ani Art Academy Dominicana instructor Edward Dillon and his talented Apprentices, asking to help them prepare Laguna Gri Gri area for the carnival. The Apprentices spent nearly a week turning walls into beautiful works of art. The theme was Rio San Juan Culture and Sea Life. In total, the Apprentices were able to complete four major murals and four small design murals. Ani Art Academies would like to congratulate the winners of our 3rd Annual Drawing Competition! A prestigious panel of judges including Joshua Rose, Kara Ross, Patrick Wilshire, Christine Serr, David Ethridge, and Tim Reynolds examined each drawing for the qualities that best represent an artist in true command of his or her talent.We are thrilled to announce that the 1st place winner is awarded to Phil Kidd for his drawing, The Fall of Man. Phil will be awarded a $100 gift card for Marquis Art & Frame and an Ani Art Academies’ Annual Drawing Competition Certificate of Recognition. 2nd place is awarded to Patricia Alonzo Diaz for her drawing, Mind Over Music. Patricia will be awarded entry into the ARC Salon, one of the most challenging and diverse competitions for Representational artists today, and an Ani Drawing Competition Certificate of Recognition. A 3rd place tie is awarded to both Dan Christian for his drawing, The Oracle, and Elizardo Mojica, for his drawing, By Decree of Camelot. Both will receive entry into the ARC Salon, as well as an Ani Drawing Competition Certificate of Recognition. Ani Art Academy Waichulis artist Dan Christian was excited to teach a portraiture workshop to an eager group of students in his hometown of Casper, Wyoming last month. The two-day workshop, Drawing the Portrait: First Steps, allowed participants to learn and practice basic technique, and to then apply what they learned in a life-drawing session. A wonderful time was had by all of the participants, and Dan is looking forward to hosting more workshops in the near future. The Ani Art Academies Art Auction to benefit baby Damian is nearing its final hours, with bids being accepted until tomorrow, Friday February 10th, at noon. Damian was born on September 9th, 2016 at 35 weeks with Gastroschisis. He has been diagnosed with Short Bowel Syndrome, and consequently has to use a Gtube (feeding tube), Jtube (drainage tube), and a Broviac, which is a central IV line that is inserted through his neck into his vein near the heart. Damian was born with only 10% of his small intestines and microcolon. He has undergone more than 6 surgeries in his 4 short months of life.Gaby and Damian will be moving to Boston to be admitted to the Boston Children’s hospital where he will receive the special care he needs. Ani Art Academies artists join a lineup of over 60 creators from the around the globe in this exhibition that asked participants to consider what the color red means to them. Anthony Waichulis joins the lineup at Robert Lange Studios in the highly anticipated exhibition, Attention to Detail. The show, opening tonight, February 3rd, will feature the work of 30 world-renowned realist painters with emphasis on time-oriented works. Attention to Detail is comprised of artists who find themselves on one end of the spectrum when it comes to rendering capability; they are obsessive in their practices and often employ small brushes and time as their greatest assets. The works of Ani Art Academy Anguilla Dean Timothy Jahn and Ani Art Academy Dominicana Dean Edward Dillon were on display at the LA Art Show with Rehs Contemporary Galleries last week. The show, known as the region’s preeminent art fair, emerges as the annual civic celebration of the visual arts.
