The Ani Art Academies is happy to announce Apprentices and Alumni who were chosen as finalists of the 13th International Salon Competition! This year’s competition had an approximate 3,750 entries from 69 countries! The ARC will announce the winners in each category in mid-February. Ani Art Academies would like to congratulate the Ani Apprentices who have received an award of Excellence and Distinction for their hard work over the past year. We are excited to announce that Ani Art Academy Sri Lanka is scheduled to open by the end of January 2018. The facility will serve the local community, and hold up to 50 students. The Sri Lanka studio will be the second Ani Art Academy in Asia, joining the Thailand school that is currently operating under the instruction of Rodney O’Dell Davis. Ani Art Academy Anguilla instructor Tim W. Jahn, arrived in Sri Lanka earlier this fall and had been overseeing the finishing touches of the construction and building of the furniture by talented local wood craftsmen. We are thrilled to continue our expansion and look forward to the wonderful new opportunities that lie ahead for our schools, teachers, and students!

Ani Art Academy Waichulis Apprentices started off the “spooky” holiday with life drawing session, where our beautiful model, Shaina Walker, who was dressed as a cat woman. All the Apprentices were in costumes of a ghost, little devil, the day of the dead, etc.. Let the goosebumps spread, and the hairs stand up on and let the candy fill your dreams. Founded in 2008, IX is the first, ground-breaking art show, symposium, and celebration dedicated solely to imaginative realism—bringing artists, students, collectors, and art fans together for an annual gathering intended to inspire and create further awareness and zeal for imaginative realism and all that’s encompassed in the realm of the fantastic. Ani Art Academies Apprentices enjoyed cast drawing session at the Pauly Friedman Art Gallery at the Misericordia University. The gallery joined major art galleries around the world in celebration of French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) with the exhibit, "Rodin: Portraits of a Lifetime-Selections from the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Collections. It’s that time again Ani Apprentices! Deadline is approaching fast. Submit your entries into 13th international arc salon competition soon. This year ARC introducing a 9th category dedicated to plein air painting, as well as a few new exciting awards. The most prestigious realist art competition in the Americas and perhaps the world, the International ARC Salon offers over $100,000 in cash awards and International recognition through partnerships with prestigious magazines, galleries, museum exhibitions, and a strong online presence. All winners, honorable mentions, and finalists will have their entries accompanied by their name displayed on the ARC website and will also be featured in the 13th International ARC Salon Catalogue. In addition, all winners and honorable mentions will receive an Award Certificate suitable for framing. Good Luck!

We are so proud of our apprentices Victoria Steel, Jason, Brady, Andrea Bills, Barbara Fox, and Taffari Crawford to be exhibited at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. All of them are winners of various awards at the 12th International ARC Salon Competition, which is the most prestigious realist art competition in the Americas and perhaps the world. MEAM museum is the first museum to display and promote contemporary figurative art exclusively. 75 works were chosen for the live version of the ARC Salon Exhibition. The exhibition will be on view at the MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Spain from September 23 - November 27, 2017.

Ani Art Academy Waichulis apprentices visited Brandywine River Museum of Art to view the Andrew Wyeth In Retrospect Exhibit. The Brandywine River Museum is a museum of regional and American art. The museum showcases the art of Andrew Wyeth, a major American realist painter, and his family: his father N.C. Wyeth, illustrator of many children’s classics, and his son Jamie Wyeth, a contemporary American realist painter. Our apprentices enjoyed the exhibit and got inspired by the beautiful works. The museum building itself is unique; it is converted nineteenth-century mill with a dramatic steel and glass addition overlooking the banks of the Brandywine River. The Ani Art Academy Waichulis Studio is happy to welcome Marion Snowdon, Long-Distance Apprentice for her second visit to the Academy.
